ForsLean is a phytonutrient that comes from a plant called coleus forskohlii and is trademarked under the Sabinsa Corporation. ForsLean is said to enhance lean body mass while simultaneously suppressing appetite for both fat and weight loss. Recently, Baylor University conducted a study where 23 females were given either ForsLean or a placebo twice daily. After 12 weeks, the group that was given ForsLean found that they had less hunger and fatigue than the placebo group.
The main ingredient in ForsLean is Forskohlin, which is an adenylate cyclase activator. Forskolin raises levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), which helps cells communicate and regulate hormones. It triggers metabolic processes and helps the body burn fat and increase lean body mass, which includes the muscles, bones, connective tissue, and vital organs. ForsLean also has been shown to lower blood pressure.
It seems that most new products follow the same pattern; long-term research is not available yet to properly determine the overall safety. ForsLean’s website does recommend that those with low blood pressure or ulcers should not take this product. In fact, this comes directly from their website, “Although no major side effects have been reported, C. forskohlii should be avoided by gastric ulcer patients and low blood pressure cases. It should be used with caution by those on prescription medications, especially antiasthmatics and antihypertensives since C. forskohlii may potentiate the effects of these prescription drugs.” The website is very informative and lots of studies have been conducted on ForsLean and they are listed on the website. This product has been deemed both safe and effective, aside from those with low blood pressure and ulcers. But it hasn’t been around long enough to determine if there are any ill effects to its long-term use.
I went to the ForsLean website because I was curious but I was so impressed after reading through the various studies and information that’s included that I purchased a product from the Vitamin Shoppe that contains ForsLean called LeanGard. I have used it for a few days and found that it provides me with a sustained burst of energy. I have used fat burners in the past and have never been happy with their results. They all gave me an uncomfortable jittery feeling, like I get after consuming way too may cups of coffee. LeanGard doesn’t make me feel jittery or nervous or give me any sort of crash like I was coming down off of a high. I took the recommended dose (two pills) a few hours before I went to the gym and I had a lot of energy and stamina. I don’t want to say that I had more stamina than I would have had otherwise, but I will say that I felt really good. And I have not had intense food cravings at any point in the past few days, which I think I attribute to the ForsLean.
It’s too bad that relatively new products simply haven’t been around long enough to determine their long-term effects. But I’m willing to continue using it to see what happens over the next month.
